A team in our group led by our Humboldt-postdoc Dr. Soressa Abera Chala has recently reported the design of dual-site tandem catalysts for efficient CO2-to-ethanol electroreduction. The catalyst is based on adjacent copper and cobalt sites which act synergistically to convert CO2 to CO (cobalt) and then CO to ethanol (copper) based on a CO spillover mechanism.

The work is published in ACS Catalysis. Congrats to the team!
